Since Coralie has been taking strolls down memory lane, it inspired me to go through my digital collection. I found some great ones… but one, in particular, made me laugh out loud. So, here is my throw-back and my truth being told:
I am so grateful for Coralie; for her truth, her encouragement, and years and years and years of friendship. I mean, who would want to mess with these bitches (circa 1999)?! Without her, there would be no blog. Without her, there would be way less memories. Without her, I wouldn’t be who I am today… and I also wouldn’t know all the words to Quad City DJ’s C’mon N’ Ride It (The Train). ‘Cause I know two things: 1. Michelle, Tameka, AND Tanya wanna ride that train… and 2. I love that Coralie Anne; as 15-year-old Farish and as a 33-year-old Scott who is a wife and mom and all the iterations in between.
I have a whole treasure trove of pics of me and Coralie… and one day I’ll get to those, but in going through my archives, the above made me laugh out loud. Something in the expressions is so classic that I couldn’t resist sharing. So, thanks for indulging me and thanks C.A.- for everything…
