2016: Less is More

Less is More

For 2014 I outlined about 75 New Years Resolutions and then committed to coming back and updating my progress throughout the year. Well, some I carried valiantly through the year and others kind of fell by the way side, ahem, water consumption. Regardless, I made them and stuck with them. 2015 was not the same story. Because I had so many in 2014 I had exactly none in 2015. It was like I was taking the year off from setting big goals for the year.

However, my lack of goals for 2015 is no way reflective of the massive amount of movement that went down in my life over the course of the year. 2015 was a great year for Bub, Baby Bub and myself. We had much going on including purchasing an investment condo and remodeling our house. (Which is still going on BTW!)

Because I went so overboard year before last on the goals front that I totally skipped making any last year I wanted to make a mindful choice about my 2016 resolutions. I did not want to just settle on the generic resolutions- lose weight, gain insight, read more, exercise, etc. etc. Those are all over rated anyway! But, then Moma and I were walking when she said something about less. And it hit me. That would be my mantra for 2016: Less.

2016 Check List

I am not limiting myself to less with just these but, these five are a nice, solid start to meditating on Less. And I think I will take a lesson from 2014 and hold myself accountable by promising to report how well I’m sticking to less.

Have you made any New Year resolutions or goals? Do you believe in making them? Do you like ushering in a new year? One week into the new year and are you over it already? You know, we want to know. Tell us about it.

  1. CeeCee – I’m a little late reading this, but I love your less is more post! Now that we’re almost halfway through the year, how’s it working out?

    • DeeDee, I wish I could tell you that I am still going strong— but, in reality, that’s not true… it is funny- I have just started to circle back to this again. I just have a natural tendency to clutter. So, I have to constantly remind myself to de-clutter.
