2017: No Whammies! No Whammies!

Here we are again, starting a new year and a new process on the blog. It is kinda odd to be blogging solo again after a year of co-dependently blogging with Leigh. But, it’s like riding a bike- get on and peddle. So, I’ll start pedaling.

Dear Reader, you might be only slightly shocked to hear that while I have big hopes for 2017, I have not set 10 resolutions like I did a few years back. But, I have sat down and made a list, in pencil, of what I would like to accomplish this year. Nothing has changed about how I divide my life: personal, work, family and health. At the end of the day, I want to grow and be better in every area and Lord, help me, not land on any whammies!

Here’s a quick outline of my goals for the New Year: In my personal life, I want to be a better wife and mother, I want to be a better me. I want to concentrate on getting back in gear as far as living a healthy lifestyle. In my work life, I want to focus with gazelle intensity on hitting my goals and earning my bonuses. In my family life, I want to take a long hard look at our, but mine in particular, spending habits. I want to build our savings. Those are the high points of my goals for the coming year. For the first  time that I have set goals for the year, these are wide and sweeping and I am okay with that.

I have also revisited some of the goals I have set in the last few Januarys. Always, I want to live wholeheartedly and with purpose. I want to loose some LBs and I want to make a concerted effort to stay in the moment but not neglect the future and most importantly, I want to get organized and let some shit go.

So, there- here is my rough map for the year. What have you got on your plate? You know, I want to hear where you are putting your focus and even more, how you plan to make it happen.
