I made homemade taco seasoning for the first time over a year ago- I did not realize that all the components were already in my spice cabinet. I have thought about finding a recipe for ranch seasoning but never got around to it until this week. Not only did Jeanie give me a recipe for chicken patties, she also gave me several crockpot recipes; one of which called for ranch seasoning. So I decided to finally search out and make a homemade ranch seasoning recipe.
I found a great recipe at Gimme Some Oven that was really easy to follow. I honestly had no clue what made ranch ranch but, turns out- I had all but one ingredient for it too! Well… since I’m being honest- I would have needed 2 ingredients had it not been for my moma donating all her spices to me. But still- ranch is just a couple ingredients found in your spice cabinet.
There is nothing more to it than mixing everything all together. It’s fine just like that. I went one step further and ran it through my food processor. Either way is cool.

Do you have a tasty recipe that calls for ranch seasoning? Do you have a ranch dressing addiction you want to talk about? Ha! (If you mix a little ranch seasoning with some plain Greek yogurt, you have a skinny version of ranch dip.)
Cool! I think I might try this with some fresh ingredients the next time I have a lot of parsley sitting around (we can only buy it in bunches at our store).
Sheila, I think it would be awesome with all fresh ingredients- mine were not. But, now that I have made it, it kind of opens up all kinds of doors to use the ranch seasoning- I am pretty pumped. I have lately been interested in vinaigrettes…ranch vinaigrette? hmmmmmm -Coralie
Watch yo back, Hidden Valley! Do you add mayonnaise for dressing? And, yes… ranch vinaigrette sounds like something to look into.
