No matter WHAT holiday you celebrate, we’re entering into prime gift-giving season. As a gift to you, we’ve tried to make things a little easier in that department. Below are our ten favorite gifts to give for this year’s Holiday Gift Guide. But, remember, thoughtful trumps expensive every time—no one needs to go broke buying holiday presents.
Donate to a cause:
We continue to suggest donations in your giftee’s honor, especially this year. Everyone is struggling with inflation, including your favorite small businesses, charities, shelters, and artisans. Please shop locally this season and all year round. Donate your time and money to people and things that you believe in. Leading with love will always top our Holiday Gift Guides.
Travel:
Very few people remember the geegaw present they got years ago. But EVERYONE remembers trips and travel. We always suggest experiences over plastic junk, and traveling is the ultimate experience. If a whole trip isn’t in the cards, donate to a travel fund. Experiences over things, always.
Snowflake Name Ornaments:
Ornaments are always on our Holiday Gift Guide list of the top gifts that keep on giving. These “Your Name in a Snowflake Ornament” from UnCommon Goods (or Etsy) are perfect for any and everyone. Your giftee’s name is scrolled, duplicated, and designed into a beautiful snowflake. Everyone loves something with their name on it. Just ask the novelty license plate keychain industry.
If you’ve got a giftee who is a sophisticated traveler or are looking to pretty up someone’s counter/shower, these Cadence Capsules are a chic alternative to traditional travel accessories and bathroom organization. Magnetic, stacking, leak-proof, and customizable? Sign us up!
Kizik Shoes:
Hands-free shoes are more than just a gimmick. Kizik has elevated a feature that was previously relegated to the athletic shoe market into cleverly disguised *real* looking shoes. Kizik’s are some of the few shoes that can go from right out of the box to on-your-feet-all-day without any break-in discomfort. Everyone who buys them becomes an immediate convert. Drink the Flavor-Ade.
Laneige Lip Masks:
Laneige Lip Masks are a great stocking stuffer and should be distributed in cold climates by mandate. Lip masks are having their moment, and the best in the business is Laneige. They have a whole line of skincare, but their lip masks are what put them on the map. There are a ton of fun flavors, and the price is definitely right.
AirTags/Tiles:
If you know a traveler or frequent misplacer of things, AirTags or Tiles are a great practical gift. As with everything, they’ve been abused by some bad apples, but the premise is still sound. Many a person’s metaphorical bacon and luggage have been saved by having these. Might as well benefit from the surveillance state in which we find ourselves.
Wildgrain Bread/Pasta/Pastry Delivery:
Unless you have gluten problems, there is really no finer food pairing than great bread with real butter. There are a lot of subscription delivery companies out there, but Wildgrain really delivers. If you know someone who loves delicious pasta and bread and doesn’t live near a good source, this is a yummy gift option. There is a one-time gifting option that makes the nearly perfect gift. The croissants are a real stand-out!
Hexclad Cookware:
There is a lot of celebrity cookware out there. Some are good, and others are garbage. Gordon Ramsey’s HexClad pan is pretty great. For no other reason than it’s a non-stick pan that you can use with metal utensils. If you’ve got a foodie in your life who is looking for a new piece for their collection, this is a worthy one.
Silk/Satin Pillowcases:
Everyone wants less frizzy hair, better skin, and a cool side of a pillow. If you know someone not on the silky pillowcase train yet, get them two tickets. Even Oprah agrees this year!
